Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

If you have the right perspective , you realize, every morning upon waking, that this day is the first day of the rest of your life.

You never know how many days you have left.

You cannot be sure of the quality of your remaining days.

You can, however, live this day well.

You can live with gratitude for every bite of food you are offered, for the bed you sleep in, for the warmth of your clothing, for the car you drive, for the smiles from friends, for the embrace of a loved one, for the beauty of the earth.

You can live in a space of love for every living creature that crosses your path.

You can live from a place of harmony with all aspects of the world around you: the sun, the wind, the rain, the dancing leaves, the singng birds, even the pitter pat of busy city sidewalks.

You can take this day, with complete peace, knowing that everything that is meant to happen is happening.   Knowing that, with courage and discernment, your life is moving forward perfectly as it should.

You can take this day as a gift of the universe – the gift of life – the gift of interconnection, of being a part of all that is.

Such magnificence!

My friends – live this day well.  Life and love surround you.  Have courage!  You are worthy of this very perfect day, this very perfect life, this very perfect world.

  1. Thank you. Just what I needed to read today!

    Especially these two parts:

“You can live in a space of love for every living creature that crosses your path.” (because I injured and probably killed–accidentally–a wasp that was trapped in my window while trying to rescue it to put it outside. I put it outside anyway and it seemed better, but I don’t think it will live)

“Knowing that, with courage and discernment, your life is moving forward perfectly as it should.” (because I’m struggling to bring a vision to life and get fearful of running out of money and time before it all comes together…..trying to focus on abundance, patience and doing my part, while letting go of outcomes, resources, timetables….)

Thank you. I was cleaning out emails when this came in, so I suspect I was meant to see it!
